Khari Baoli is one of the famous and oldest market of Delhi near Red Fort of Delhi. You will witness one of the starting points of Spice Trade Route. This place is a bit over crowded, the reason is nothing has changed since 100s of years. They have preserved the old times way of working and is still popular. This Walk will take you to the busiest lanes of the markets and will show you day to day business transaction in the market. This tour will leave a big mark of native India impression.
Meeting point : Chawri Bazar Metro Station (Delhi Metro Map)
Distance : approx. 1.5 kms
Duration : about 2 hours
Days : Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
Time : 11.00 am to 1pm. Gets extremely crowded after that
Who can come: All are welcome. Wheelchairs are ok early morning but impossible to negotiate later in the day.
What to wear and carry:
• Walking shoes
• Recommended that you carry some covering for your head, esp. useful when visiting religious sites. Avoid wearing shorts.
• Drinking water
How to get there:
• Metro: get down at ‘Chawri Bazar Metro Station’.
• Bus: Any bus coming to ‘Chawri Bazar Metro Station’ will drop you near meeting point. In case you get dropped off at Delhi Railway Station (or Old Delhi Railway Station) take a rickshaw to the meeting point
• Auto/Cab: Get dropped off at Chawari Bazaar Metro Station.
